Humble Bundle

Everyone should check out the Humble Bundle! It's an awesome thing where they combine several indie games into a single bundle for really cheap! At this time, you can get 4 games for whatever price you choose, and when you purchase you can choose where you money to go. You can choose to split your money between the game developers, charity, or the Humble Bundle crew. Did I mention you get to name your own price? You can pay $1 dollar or $100 it's all up to you! Anyone who reads this should definitely check it out!

You can check it out here -> http://www.humblebundle.com/

Also, sorry about the lack of posts lately. I've been kind of busy, so I think I'm gonna start writing posts and just scheduling them to be published later

Ender's Game

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite books ever. The book I’m referring to is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I’ll give you a basic summary of the book, and then I’ll explain why I like it so much.

Ender’s Game takes place in the near future, and in the book, Earth has been invaded by an alien race twice, and is anticipating a third invasion. In order to prepare for the inevitable 3rd invasion, the world has united and every country sends its most gifted children into space in order to train them to fight the aliens in the third invasion. So, the book follows Ender Wiggin who has been chosen by the government to get sent up to Battle School, and it tracks his journey through Battle School.

From my description of the book, it probably sounds pretty simplistic, but the book is actually pretty complex. It focuses on character development more than anything else, and it’s written from Ender’s point of view, so as a reader you can identify the struggles that Ender goes through.  Ender’s game has taught me a lot about myself, and I really related to the main character, which was really nice. I highly recommend this book to everyone, I’ve lent my copy to many friends, and I have yet to find one who didn’t like it. I can’t emphasize how good this book is. Just go read it!

English II

Here's another poem I had to write for my english class. Tell me what you think, I loved the feedback on the last one. This one is meant to be somewhat cynical, so keep that in mind when you're reading it.

“I love you”
Do you even know what that means?
You just throw it around
And take it back when it’s convenient
Sometimes I question if you ever meant it
If anyone really means it
Love is modern art
So abstract
So free of boundaries
Can anyone define love?
I have yet to meet someone who can
It’s easy to find someone else who will say
“I love you”
But at the end of the day
What does “I love you” mean?

Replacements

I find it kind of weird that I've lost a lot of people who were really close to me at some point, and that I was able to replace them really easily. I guess it's weird because most of the people who've decided to exclude themselves from my life have had a hard time finding someone to replace me in their lives. I'm not sure why it's so easy for me to replace others... Maybe I just don't care about them as much as they do about me? I feel like the one thing you should understand the best is yourself, by I confuse myself all the time. It's quite frustrating...

80's Music

For some reason, last night, I had the urge to listen to some classic 80's rock, and now I can't stop! I've got several songs stuck in my head, and they won't get out! I'm not complaining though, cause they're all awesome ;)
Here's a couple of them. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do

Starcraft

So, one of my favorite games of all time is StarCraft. Part of the reason that I love this game so much is because of the gameplay. For people who don't know how the game plays out, you end up choosing one of 3 races, and then you and your opponent collect resources in order to create armies and try to kill each other. It's actually a lot more complex, and interesting than it sounds, and it's a ton of fun to watch and play. Each of the races you can choose is completely different from the others, and while there are some units that serve a similar purpose, they each do it in their own way. For me, the most appealing part of playing StarCraft, is the feeling I get when I defeat an opponent. There's something extremely gratifying about beating someone, and knowing that in that moment you were better than them, and your skill level surpassed theirs. Another thing I enjoy about StarCraft is seeing your own improvement. I love when I manage to pull of something that I wasn't able to do before, or when I play for an extended period of time without making mistakes. It feels really good to look back and see that you have actually improved. The StarCraft community is pretty amazing in general, there are some people who are rude, but for the most part everyone is really nice, and finding a practice partner isn't very   difficult. If you've never played StarCraft you should definitely give it a shot, cause it's a bunch of fun :D
